  • I have been really busy lately and now have the chance to write, so bear with me, this could be a long entry.  I am now in Afghanistan.  It's an interesting country, and also the poorest in the Middle East.  Iraq is probably a trillion times richer!!!  This country is nothing but dust.  Dust is everywhere.  It's in the air, on the ground, in my ears, and my nose.  I can't escape it!!!  It's really bad when you see a helicopter go by and this hideous dust cloud is behind it.  For the safety of my comrades and myself I will not go into details about my location or my rotation here.  As far as safety goes, it's too soon to tell.  The people are poor but not stupid, so I'm sure the enemy is more than capable of harming or killing us.  Every country has a bomb genius.  We had to go to our bunkers because we got attacked.  It didn't last too long though.  What I would like is for these people to bring it head on instead of trying to blow us to kingdom come.  What cowards.  They know we'll whoop them in a fire fight, so the only way to do any damage is blow us up.  But, they're destroying their country along with us.  I often wonder if they argue about "the credit" when the news shows their attacks.

Leading up to my deployment, I was very busy.  My NCOIC was in the hospital with meningitis, his replacement was on leave, and that just left me to do inventories, supply runs, BN Sports Day set-up, and ranges.  I was so frustrated and couldn't ask for help, because I didn't want to have to check up people and then end up doing the work they were doing later because they did it wrong.  Sheesh!!!  I was so tired and miserable and then my deployment date kept changing and I had to pack my bags, re-register my car, and get my medical screening cleared.  Believe me, when I finally boarded the plane, I sighed a sigh of relief.

Now, since my change-over is complete, I can take a little bit of an easy.  I still have missions I have to run and still have my end to hold up, but it's none of that garrison bull crap.  No horse and pony shows here!!!

Well that's about all I've been up to.  I think I'm going to start my stories up again to give you all something else to read other than my life.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and don't forget what Jesus did for us.  He is risen!!!

    God bless and take care,

    Jen
